Personally, I’m a fan of new technology and new communication. Had I been alive I would NOT have been against the Printing Press, the Megaphone, the Radio, and no surprises here: the Television.
Somehow though, with each emerging new technology much of the church can be skeptical of embracing it as a way to reach and relate more. Especially if we’re talking using those computerized gizmos IN CHURCH! (Ok… we have to be smart about how we RELATE using technology. The church can resort to using technology primarily as a DONATION or MARKETING tool and that is never good. For more on this… see everything Seth Godin has ever written.)

An amazing Bible / bible app online called YOU VERSION
Both of these current, TODAY, relevant tools (actually, they’re way more than tools… they are ways to connect, relate and go deep online) are developed by the amazing folks at LIFECHURCH.TV. Honestly, check them out. They are based in Oklahoma City, but their hearts and thinking are global.
I have “attended” several services online @LIFECHURCH.TV. One, where people from nearly 50 countries were watching. And through the app developed by their team, I’ve been able to real-time communicate/connect with others who were “attending,” and use/save sermon notes… all while digesting the entire worship experience… without a missing a beat. The LIFECHURCH.TV experience is so much more than streaming a service.
As for YOU VERSION… it is an interactive community of folks studying the bible that gives instant access to 40 versions of the Bible in 22 Languages. Mind boggling! (Yes, You Version is 100 functional on any phone that can access the web!! The iPhone app is absolutely incredible.)
